If there are words in front of me, I am proofreading. I am what is known as a Grammar Nazi, although I prefer Grammar Police. Or more correctly, Grammar and Spelling Police. I am a pedant. Be it signage, television, literary works, blogs, advertisements, menus, Tweets, text messages, no matter what; reading and proofreading are one and the same to me. If there is a mistake, I feel that I have to do something about it. You don't like me much for it. So what is it that makes me do it? |
